Intimate Wedding in the Solarium at the Cambridge Mill | Shelby & Kyle

The Solarium at the Cambridge Mill is among my favourite wedding venues. It’s right outside the Greater Toronto Area, and it was the perfect space for Shelby and Kyle.

The space, the staff, and the overall ambiance create a vibe that exudes luxury!

So, I couldn’t wait to work there again when Shelby and Kyle hired me as their wedding floral designer

I had the most fun getting to know this couple, who happen to be a Bumble success story. Their story began when Kyle used his one-and-only 24-hour extension, hoping to connect with Shelby after she hadn’t responded to his initial message. Eventually, she did respond, and several weeks later, the two embarked on their first date! After a 2 AM McDonald’s run (and one too many vodka sodas), it was clear to both that this was the start of something special. As they say, the rest is history!

Luxury Floral Design for a Spring Micro-Wedding

For the intimate dinner following their ceremony, Shelby and Kyle envisioned an elegant space full of fresh flowers and softly flickering candles overlooking the water below. The Solarium showcases spectacular views of the Grand River, bringing an element of the natural world into every celebration!

During our initial call, I could tell that bringing their loved ones together was central to Shelby and Kyle’s vision.

So, a long, family-style table made sense. We decided to feature a variety of floral centrepieces filled with an assortment of pastel blooms to evoke the spring season, all housed in ivory stone vases for a modern touch.

And speaking of the incredible florals from this day, I can hardly neglect to mention the freestanding arch installation that formed the focal point for the couple’s ceremony!

With lush seasonal foliage and big blooms, including tulips, daffodils, garden roses, and ranunculus, it was a complete mood-maker. The sun pouring in through the Solarium’s floor-to-ceiling windows made the sight even more beautiful!

Intimate Ceremony in the Solarium at the Cambridge Mill

Shelby and Kyle decided to have not one, but two wedding days so they could celebrate their love exactly as they envisioned.

The first was a gathering of 18 loved ones in the Solarium at the Cambridge Mill, where the two exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony before signing their marriage certificate with their sisters as witnesses. From the couple’s private first look to a candlelit dinner surrounded by their nearest and dearest, it was a day tailor-made for making cherished memories. Several weeks later, their separate reception celebration allowed them to let loose with all their favourite people!
